Germany, Luftwaffe. A Rare Female Auxiliary “Flugmeldehelferin” Sudetenland Participation Document
The document is prefaced “In memory of October 1, 1938”. It is named to a woman called Siegfriede Sauerbrey, stating that she served as a Flugmeldehelferin (female plane spotter auxiliary) during the Sudetenland campaign (September/October 1938). It is dated to Vienna on October 1, 1940 and signed by a Lieutenant Colonel and Regiment Commander, the name is illegible. It also shows the facsimile of General of the Flak Artillery Friedrich Hirschauer (1883–1979), later president of the Reichsluftschutzbund (National Air Raid Protection League). Measuring 210x300mm, very fine condition with light scuffing and creasing, and one folding crease.
