A Marinenachrichtendiesnt (Navy Information Service) telegram addressed to Oberleutnant zur See Friedrich Braasch, dated 30 April 1944, informing Braasch that he has been awarded the German Cross in Gold in recognition of his meritorious service with 38. Minensuchflottille (38th Minesweeping Flotilla), with Braasch’s personnel record indicating that the award was officially bestowed on 28 April, measuring 210 mm (w) x 150 mm (h), with minor material fatigue evident, in extremely fine condition; accompanied by a photo depicting Braasch in uniform and with a variety of decorations visible, including the German Cross in Gold, the 1939 Iron Cross II Class ribbon, the 1939 Iron Cross I Class, and the Minesweeper War Badge, the reverse bears a handwritten inscription indicating that the photo was taken at the English Channel and is incorrectly dated as “1940”, measuring 81 mm (w) x 110 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
