An award certificate, measuring 142x205mm, and a training course certificate, measuring 210x147mm, both extremely fine condition with folding crease and light scuffing. The award certificate states that SS-Sturmmann Egon Wojatzky of the 5th Company of SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment 6 “Theodor Eicke” has been awarded the Panzer Badge in Bronze. The document is dated to July 22, 1944 and signed in blue ink by SS-Obersturmbannführer and Regiment Commander Karl UllrichThe training course certificate states that Wojatzky (born 1924) of
the SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment 3 “Totenkopf” completed a two day course on close range anti-tank combat at the SS Panzer Grenadier School Prosetschnitz (modern day Czech Republic). The document is dated to October 14, 1943 and signed by an SS-Obersturmführer and
Administration Leader, his name could be Schmidt.

Karl Ullrich (1910–1996) joined the NSDAP in 1931 and the SS in 1932. In July of 1934, Ullrich was placed in the SS Standarte 1 of the SS-VT as SS-Scharführer. In October, he was promoted to SS-Oberscharführer. In March 1935, Ullrich was chosen for the SS-Junker School in
Braunschweig where he was promoted to SS-Standartenoberjunker. Promotions to SS-Untersturmführer and SS-Obersturmführer followed in 1936 and 1937, respectively. He took part in the attack on Poland in the rank of SS-Hauptsturmführer. Afterwards, he fought on the Western
Front and was awarded both Classes of the Iron Cross. In mid 1941, Ullrich took command of the sapper battalion of the SS Totenkopf Division, with which he participated in the attack on Russia. He was promoted to SS-Sturmbannführer in November, and in February of 1942 he
was awarded the Knight’s Cross for his leadership role during the Battle of the Demyansk Pocket. In July, he became Corps Sapper Leader of the 2nd SS Panzer Corps and fought in the Third Battle of Kharkov. Ullrich went on to command the 3rd Battalion of SS Panzer Grenadier
Regiment 5 and was awarded the Oak Leaves in May of 1944 for leading it in fights in the vicinity of Kharkov and during the Battle of Kursk, in the rank of SS-Obersturmbannführer. Since November 1943, he had been in command of SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment 6 “Theodor Eicke”. In July 1944, Ullrich received his promotion to SS-Standartenführer. In October of 1944, he took on his final command, becoming the last commander of the 5th SS Panzer Division “Wiking”. As such, he was promoted to SS-Oberführer on April 20, 1945.
