A collection of German propaganda press photos of military and merchant ships, 1937 to 1942. The pictures measure between 181x130mm and 244x180mm, all near extremely fine to extremely fine condition with light scuffing and creasing. They all carry short notes on the reverse, describing the photos, a handful of which are in English. They are 57 German propaganda press photos, taken between 1937 and 1942. The copyright holder of most is Associated Press. The pictures show German military and merchant ships during parades, on the ocean, in the harbour, and being built. They include the “Prinz Eugen”, “Gneisenau”, “Helogoland”, “Scharnhorst”, “Schleswig Holstein”, “Tirpitz”, “Köln”, “Deutschland”, “Admiral, Hipper”, “Hessen”, “Bismarck”, “Lützow”, “Bremen”, “Admiral Graf Spee”, and the Strength through Joy ship “Robert Ley”.
