Bauer, Lieutenant Colonel).In the picture, Bauer’s collar tabs identify him as a Major, however, when he signed he had already been promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.
Footnote:Oskar Bauer (1900–1975) received his Knight’s Cross when he was commanding the 2nd Detachment of the Flak Regiment 4. He went on to command the Flak Regiment 180 and held the rank of Colonel at the end of the war.
Bauer fought in France and Russia.
