What's a max bid?

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

A Wartime Picture Postcard Signed by Major Waldemar von Gaze

Picture postcard & signature of Oak Leaves and Swords recipient Major Waldemar von Gazen, measuring 9.1 x 14 cm; postcard showing a picture of Major Waldemar von Gazen. It is signed in green ink. The back of the card identifies the photographer as Photo-Hoffmann, Munich. It also states that reprinting is forbidden: “Nachdruck verboten”.

Footnote: Waldemar von Gazen (1917–2014) fought in Poland, France, and Russia during the Second World War. He received the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross in September 1942 for his actions during the assault on Rostov. In January 1943, he was awarded the Oak Leaves for distinguishing himself in combat again, as part of the Kuban bridgehead. During the battles to hold the German lines near Melitopol, von Gazen was severely wounded, but his regiment succeeded. In October 1943, he was awarded the Swords for this achievement.
