The photo shows Naumann wearing the Knight’s Cross standing behind a young man. He signed it in black ink. On the reverse, a note states: “The HJ visits the officer training course at the artillery school in Jüterbog near Berlin, May 1943”. Measuring 97x137mm, mint condition.

Footnote: Horst Naumann was born on December 13, 1921 in Berlin. During the war, he served as section chief in the 3rd company of Assault Gun Detachment 184. As an NCO, he destroyed 12 Soviet tanks in just three days between January 1 and 4, 1943 in the Demyansk area. On January 4, the received the Knight’s Cross for having destroyed 27 tanks. This feat is even more impressive due to the fact that Naumann only had a vehicle without a turret. The highest rank he reached was that of Lieutenant. Naumann died on November 27, 2000.
