Germany, HJ. A Period Portrait of an Early HJ Member, c.1935
The photo shows an HJ member wearing an early visor cap with 1929 pattern eagle. On his left breast pocket are a Golden HJ Badge, meaning that he must have joined the organisation before October of 1932, and two event badges. His district triangle, in all probability, reads “Nord - Nordmark”. The reverse of the picture postcard is unused, except for a stamp of the photographer, H. Gumlich in Bordesholm (northern Germany). Measuring 87x134mm, extremely fine condition with light scuffing, and some soiling of the reverse.
