A lot of four press photos from the estate of U-Boat ace Herbert Schultze, including one depicting him in a U-Boat greatcoat and visor cap, with the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves and an Officer’s dress dagger clearly visible, the reverse stamped with the mark of Braemer und Güll, a registered press corps photography agency, measuring 130 mm (w) x 184 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; one showing Officers on the deck of Schultze’s boat U-48, the reverse bearing a handwritten inscription with a date of 21 June 1941 and an additional handwritten inscription indicating that is was retrieved from an estate in 1978, unit-stamped “2. MARINE-KRIEGSBERICHTER-HALBKOMPANIE”, measuring 180 mm (w) x 132 mm (h), with some material fatigue evident, in near extremely fine condition; a second photo taken on the same occasion showing Schultze with his Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves visible in high detail, the reverse bearing a handwritten inscription, measuring 180 mm (w) x 130 mm (h), in extremely fine condition, and; one showing a crewman or merchant mariner in Kiel, the reverse bearing a studio mark of “FRIED. KRUPP”, measuring 116 mm (w) x 162 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
