Germany, Wehrmacht. A Collection of Correspondence & Photographs of Hans Kruppa
(Kriegsbriefe). This is an extensive collection of Second War period correspondence, documentation, and photographs from Hans Leopold Kruppa. Born 29 September 1920 in Hamburg, Kruppa served in the Heer (Army) during the war and saw action on the Eastern Front. The group contains numerous letters address to Kruppa’s mother, Helene Kruppa, from the front, as well as a number of black-and-white photographs and cards. All letters are dated between 1942 and 1945 and feature Wehrmacht Feldpost stamps and marked. The photos depict Kruppa in the uniform of a Heer EM/NCO. Hans Kruppa survived the war and returned to Hamburg, where he married Lieselotte Brettschneider (born 23 May 1924 in Hamburg). The couple travelled extensively throughout Europe in the 1950s, with trips to Denmark, Belgium, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Yugoslavia recorded.
