Germany, SS. Three Photographs; SS Member & SS Guards at the Feldherrnhalle
Measures 5.3x7.9mm / 5.9x7.3mm; A collection of three photos. The first one shows a young man in an SS uniform. The collar patch identifies him as a Sturmmann (Storm Trooper). On his chest he wears two badges, an SA Sports Badge, and a Deutsches Reichssportabzeichen (German Reich Sports Badge). The back of the picture identifies the photographer as Johs. Sonntag in Münster, Westfalia. A handwritten note states that “it’s not a nice picture, but for this day it had to be without glasses”. The other two pictures show the changing of the guards in front of the memorial at the Feldherrnhalle in Munich, which during the Third Reich commemorated the failed Beer Hall Putsch, Hitler’s first attempt to gain power in Germany.
