A 1944 German Army Weapon Agency Letter to the Warsaw United Machine Manufacturers, Ltd.
Item: Army Acceptance Organization certificate, 21.9 x 14.6 cm; Date of item: 1944; Condition: Fair, signs of aging and dried water spot; A certificate from the Heeres-Abnahmestelle (Army Acceptance Organization), a subsidiary of the Heereswaffenamt (Army Weapon Agency). Before WWII it was charged with the German rearmament. During the war it was responsible for testing and acceptance of all weapons, equipment, and ammunition before distribution. The letter states that senior plant security officer Albert Korelt/Kordt (?) of the company “Warschauer Vereinigte Maschinenfabriken G.m.b.H.” (Warsaw United Machine Manufacturers, Ltd.) in Ursus near Warsaw (today a part of the city), Poland, is commissioned by the Army Acceptance Organization to collect certain production parts in Posen. If need be, he is authorized to use SF trains (Schnellzug für Fronturlauber = express trains for R&R soldiers). The certificate is dated to Mar 15th, 1944.
