A Prisoner of War Letter from a German POW in Algeria 1944

Letter was written by a German prisoner of war at Oran, Algeria. The front panel inscribed "PRISONER OF WAR", handwritten message in black ink on the inside spread from Gefreiter Gerhard Haubold, Prisoner of War number E131, dated August 9, 1944, addressed to "Familie / Alex Haubold / 10 Dresden - 28 / Braunsdorfer Strasse 9 / Deutschland", United States Army Examiner stamp and a severed label inscribed "Geöffnet" (Open) beside two Wehrmacht stamps, certain panels marked "DO NOT WRITE HERE!" in English, German and French, printed in black ink on an off-white paper stock, 182 mm x 358 mm, two laterals tears around the Wehrmacht label, near extremely fine.
