The page itself measures 14.8x19.9 cm newspaper clipping measuring 4.3x7.3cm; The headline identifies him as a recipient of the Oak Leaves, the text below the picture as a Detachment Commander in the SS Panzer Division “Das Reich; Thierack’s signature is strong and in blue ink.

Footnote: Christian Tychsen (1910–1944) received his Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross for his role in the fighting around Kharkov during Operation Barbarossa in early 1943. At the end of the year, he received the Oak Leaves as well, for being able to prevent a Russian break through his lines.
