Germany, Heer. A Wehrpaß and Cabinet Card Portrait to Alfons Herrmann
(Wehrpaß und Porträt). A Wehrpaß constructed of a card stock binding with all 52 paginated interior pages intact and featuring handwritten entries, the former indicating that the booklet was issued to Alfons Herrmann, a veteran of the First World War who served on the Western Front from 31 July 1914 until 8 November 1918, with undated award entries for the 1914 Iron Cross II Class, Silver Grade Wound Badge, and the Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918, retaining a certified studio portrait of Herrmann and an additional attestation of his wartime service, measuring 105 mm (w) x 148 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; accompanied by an early cabinet card portrait of Herrmann in an Imperial (Prussian) uniform, above a banner with a partially-obscured date of the first decade of the 20th century, the reverse bearing a Metz studio mark, measuring 108 mm (w) x 165 mm (h), with some scratching to the obverse, in very fine condition.
