What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Three ID Books to SS-Sturmmann Ferdinand Forstenpointner

The collection consists of an SS ID and pay book, 32 pages, measuring 104x146mm, extremely fine condition with some fraying; an Army ID and pay book, 24 pages, measuring 104x144mm, extremely fine condition with some fraying and creases; an NSDAP ID booklet, 48 pages, measuring 106x134mm, near mint condition. The SS book is signed on August 9, 1944, by the SS-Hauptsturmführer and Battery Chief of the SS Artillery Training and Reserve Regiment, stationed in Prague. The name could be Dörre or similar. The Army book is signed on August 28, 1939 by Senior Lieutenant and Battery Chief of the 1. Battery of the Artillery Regiment 96. The NSDAP book is signed on March 20, 1939. It carries an unusual facsimile signature of AH, in that it is a very early version of it that is not found on documents from the late 1930s anymore. There is also a facsimile signature of the Reichsschatzmeister (National Treasurer) Franz Xaver Schwarz (1875–1947). The book contains stamps for membership fees from 1939 to 1944.

Footnote:Ferdinand Forstenpointner was born in 1913 in Moosdorf in the district of Braunau am Inn (AH's birthplace), Austria. He became a locksmith. He joined the German army as a Kanonier (gunner). In February 1940 he was promoted to Gefreiter (Lance Corporal). Later in the war he switched from the army to the SS, where he held the rank of SS-Sturmmann in the 8th Company of the SS Artillery Training and Reserve Regiment.
