A 1913 German Gymnastic Society in London Third Prize Award Medal with Case
Bronze, obverse illustrating a standing nude man leaning against a pedestal, engraver marked "O.K FEC." at the base of the pedestal and maker marked "WATERLOWS LIMITED SC." below the man, surrounded by the inscription "GERMAN GYMNASTIC SOCIETY, LONDON", reverse engraved "OPEN COMPETITION / GYMNASTICS / THIRD PRIZE / WON BY CHAS. STUDER / DEC. 1913", surrounded by the inscriptions "FRISCH, FROMM, FROH, FREI", clockwise from the upper left, each of the inscriptions separated by a five-pointed star, all inside a full wreath of oak leaves that is banded with ribbons in eight locations, 50.7 mm, spotting on the obverse, extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, recessed medal bed, scuffed and cracked on the lid, case fair.
