A 238th Infantry Division Memorial Medal for the Battle of Passchendaele
A medal issued to Kan. Mäder in memory of his brave service to the Reich at the Battle of Hamblain (10.7.1917); with ribbon loop; silvered iron; measuring 38 mm in diameter and 3 mm thick; pleasant patina from age - very fine condition. Footnote: The 238th Division was formed at Lockstedt Camp near Hamburg at the beginning of January 1917 and was recruited from the 9th and 19th Corps District. After training for almost three months, the division left for France in early April 1917.
