Prince Wilhelm's Presentation Case to a Pilot Officers of the 25th Flying Battalion;solid Silver Cigaratte Case, of the highest qualityworkmanship, in 950 silver, with crescent moon and crown stampings and also marked Sy & Wagner, with ruby flower centre and sapphire push button, weighing 135.2 grams, with blue enameled facsimile signature of the Prussian Crown Prince Wilhelm, interior privately engraved to a pilot of the 25th Flying Battalion of the Imperial 5th Army, led by Captain Blum. In case of issue, blue velvet with inset silver gilt Imperial Prince’s Crown; Interior of lid marked Sy & Wagner, Berlin. Engraved: Heeresgruppe “Kronprinz” (5. Armee A.O.K 5) Sommer 1915 F.Fl.Abt. 60 – Les Rosiers Ferme Argonnen – 18 R.A.K.- Aisne Herbst 1915 B.A.M.O.H.L. Staffel- F.Fl.Abt. 25 Metz – Stenay – Vouziers Champagne Offensive Tahure - Kanonenberg". An excellent item in extremely fine condition, and likely unique. Footnote: such an Imperial gift would be awarded personally by the Prince, on a special occasion, to a selected few outstanding Imperial German Officers Pilots of the 25th Flying Battalion.
