Germany, Imperial. A Medal Dedicated to the Fallen Soldiers of Three Polish Conflicts, 1914-1915
Germany (Imperial); Bronze gilt, obverse illustrating a cavalry soldier on horseback at the right, the head of both the soldier and his horse bowed out of respect, a grave with a large cross before them at the left, a pickelhaube placed upon the grave, engraver marked "F. MAZURA" below the rear legs of the horse, inscribed "FÜR DIE GRABSTÄTTEN DER GEFALLENEN HELDEN VON" above and "- 1914 - LIMANOWA - TARNOW - GORLICE - 1915 - " (the three Polishconflicts) below, reverse is blank, 60.7 mm, residue in the recessed areas from cleaning, spotting, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, navy blue velvet recessed medal bed, scuffing and wear evident on the exterior, case better than fine.
