An Iron Cross First Class 1914 by Unknown/Unusual Maker
Silver frame, with iron core, magnetic, maker marked "Y" (unknown) on the underside of the pin, marked "800" (silver) on the reverse, 43.5 mm, vertical pinback, extremely fine.
Footnote: This unknown maker began supplying Iron Crosses in 1917, the "800" silver content only used to manufacture Iron Crosses during the period 1917-1918.(C:171)
