Germany, Imperial. A 1917 Combat Games Victor’s Medal, with Case
(Wettkämpfe Siegermedaille). Constructed of magnetic metal, the obverse with a raised figure clutching a spear and shield, the obverse with a central inscription of “WETTKÄMPFE 1917” (“COMPETITION 1917”), circumscribed by an inscription of “DEM SIEGER DAS KRIEGSMINISTERIUM” (“TO THE VICTORS, THE WAR MINISTRY”), measuring 45 mm in diameter, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of card stock with a faux purple leather exterior, the interior with a depressed purple velvet medal bed, unmarked, measuring 72 mm (w) x 72 mm (l) x 14 mm (h), in overall near extremely fine condition.
