(Mützenbänder). A mixed lot of five Imperial German Navy cap tally ribbons, including a S.M.S. Westfalen ribbon, constructed of black rayon, the exterior bearing a machine-embroidered gold bullion wire inscription of “S.M.S. WESTFALEN” in Latin script, unmarked, measuring 33 mm (w) x 1190 mm (l), with material fatigue evident in addition to remnants of an adhesive on the interior, in very fine condition; a S.M.S. Posen ribbon, constructed of black rayon, the exterior bearing a machine-embroidered gold bullion wire inscription of “S.M.S. POSEN” in Latin script, unmarked, measuring 33 mm (w) x 1180 mm (l), with material fatigue evident, in better than very fine condition; a S.M.S. Nassau ribbon, constructed of black rayon, the exterior bearing a machine-embroidered gold bullion wire inscription of “S.M.S. NASSAU” in Latin script, unmarked, measuring 32 mm (w) x 1190 mm (l), with some material fatigue evident, in better than very fine condition; a S.M.S. Rheinland ribbon, constructed of black rayon, the exterior bearing a machine-embroidered gold bullion wire inscription of “S.M.S. RHEINLAND” in Latin script, unmarked, measuring 33 mm (w) x 1120 mm (l), with some material fatigue evident, in very fine condition, and; a S.M.S. Oldenburg ribbon, constructed of black rayon, the exterior bearing a machine-embroidered gold bullion wire inscription of “S.M.S. OLDENBURG”, unmarked, measuring 32 mm (w) x 980 mm (l), with material fatigue evident, in fair condition.
