A circular badge constructed of non-magnetic metal alloy, the obverse bears a 1914 iron cross paty with a crown at the 12 o’clock arm, a central “W” cipher and the date “1914” on the 6 o’clock arm, the reverse is inscribed with “I Preis Speerwerfen 27. 6. 15 Bez Hann” (First Prize Spear Throwing), encompassed by an open ended wreath, measuring 33.50 mm (w) x 36.81 mm (h), with a black ribbon, very fine.
