Germany, Imperial. A First War Flyer's Group of Oskar Wagner

A grouping of First War period items, including a pilot identification card (Flugzeugführer Ausweis) constructed of black cardstock, the exterior embossed DEUTSCHLAND FLUGZEUGFÜHRER, the interior features a black-and-white photograph of Oskar Wagner (b. 20 April 1892), signed in black ink, dated 16 August 1918, measuring 71 mm (w) x 106 mm (h), and in good condition. An Imperial German Pilot Badge (Flugzeugführerabzeichen), constructed of hollowed silver, the obverse with a standard pilot’s badge motive within a thick wreath, with laurel leaves towards the left side of the wreath, and oak leaves towards the right side of the wreath, separated by a bow on the bottom of the wreath, adorned by an Imperial crown at the top, the reverse plain, with a vertical pinback, a barrel hinge, a round wire catch, and a breather hole directly below the catch, unmarked, measuring 44.64 mm (w) x 72.91 mm (h), weighing 22.0 grams, and in near extremely fine condition. A 1914 Iron Cross, II Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1914 II. Klasse), a cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a ribbed border, the obverse with a raised central W, with the re-institution date 1914 in raised numbering on the lower arm, and the royal crown on the upper arm, the reverse centre with a branch of three oak leaves below the crowned initials FW, with the original institution date 1813 in raised numbering on the lower arm, loop marked KO for maker Königliches Münzamt Orden, measuring 43.37 mm (w) x 47.60 mm (h), on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in good condition. (Lederfliegerhelm). A German pilot flying helmet, constructed of dark-brown leather, with neck-flap protection and a buckle-adjustable chinstrap, with functioning leather ear flaps that open and snap into place, the interior is fleece-lined, measuring, when folded, 26 cm (w) x 30 cm (h), and in near very fine condition.
