Germany, Imperial. A Grouping of Imperial Period Commemorative Badges
(Erinnerungsabzeichen). A grouping of two Imperial period commemorative badges, including an Honourary Cross of the Union of German First War Participants, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension, presenting as a Maltese Cross with crossed swords over the obverse upper arm, with central obverse Prussian eagle bearing enameled German Empire flag flanked by dates “1914” and “1918” on left and right arms, reverse centre inscribed “EHRENBUND DEUTSCH. WELTKRIEGSTEILNEHMER E.V.” (“Honour Federation of German War Participants”), unmarked, measuring 44 mm (h) x 42 mm (w), in very fine condition, and; a children’s hospital commemorative badge, constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, front inscribed “WILHELM-u. AUGUSTE VICTORIA - KINDERKRANKENHAUS, KÖNIGSBERG i/P (“Wilhelm and Auguste Victoria, Children’s Hospital, Königersberg in Prussia”) with central royal monograms of Wilhelm II and Auguste Victoria topped by Prussian imperial crown, horizontal pinback, maker marked “A. Stübbe, Berlin C19” on reverse, measuring 39 mm (w) x 29.5 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
