Germany, Imperial. A Heer EM/NCO’s Belt and Buckle, with Souvenir Buttons and Insignia
(Heer Gürtel mit Schnalle). An interesting Heer EM/NCO’s belt and buckle set, the former constructed of pressed brown leather, unmarked, measuring 5 cm (w) x 107 cm (l), stitched or otherwise fastened with 80 assorted buttons and uniform insignia from both German and Allied forces, demonstrating extensive material fatigue to the leather and various levels of oxidation and and finish loss to the buttons and insignia, in fair condition; the buckle constructed of gilded magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a central raised crown, set within a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”) and laurel branches, the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, unmarked, measuring 58 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), with some loss of finish and surface oxidation evident, an interesting veteran’s in very fine condition.
