(Brief). A letter notification awarding an Iron Cross, II Class, Non-Combatant, to Hochwohlgeboren Karl Siegismund, dated 26 January 1918, presenting a signature in black ink, measuring 20.8 cm (w) x 26.5 cm (h), presenting two folding creases, and in very fine condition.

 

Footnote: Karl Siegismund (1861-1932) was a publisher and 1st Chairman of the German Publishers’ and Booksellers Association from 1910 to 1916. Without Siegismund, there would be no German National Library in Leipzig. Siegismund held a number of honorary positions throughout his career in the book business and maintained good contacts with the highest offices of the German Reich.
