Germany, Imperial. An 1877 Petition to Kaiser Wilhelm I from Field Marshal Albrecht von Roon
(Brief). A rare and interesting handwritten letter to Kaiser Wilhelm I from Field Marshal Albrecht von Roon (Pour le Mérite, 28 October 1870), petitioning the Kaiser for assistance to the widow of Oberstleutnant Hermann von Briesen, with particular concern for the wellbeing of the ailing and aged widow’s daughter, presented in black ink on two off-white paper stock pages and dated 22 August 1877, measuring 21.5 cm (w) x 27 cm (h), a researchable example of handwritten correspondence from a key figure in the unification of Germany and modernization of the German Army in near extremely fine condition.
