A First War Imperial German Framed Memorial Portrait of a German Soldier
Germany (Imperial); Frame with a gray cloth cover and padded, with a 58.5 mm (w) x 66.5 mm (h) Iron Cross in cloth with its details screen-printed in black and silver-coloured inks, the Iron Cross placed above a voided rectangular area in the centre which houses a card-mounted black and white photo illustrating a German soldier from the chest up, with "113" on his shoulder board, his image framed by a half-wreath of flowers, with a portrait of Kaiser Wilhelm II lying on the wreath, the photo photographer studio marked "E. Kempke Freiberg", covered by a pane of glass and measuring 65 mm (w) x 105 mm (h), the frame with a trap door on the reverse to insert the photo and is secured in place by two clips, the frame measuring 118 mm (w) x 203 mm (h), very fine.
