Fischer Nr. 38", 135 mm (w) x 85 mm (h). Second Postcard is black and white, gloss finish, obverse illustrating a u-boat in harbour at Heligoland, inscribed " "U.103" im Hafen von HELGOLAND." at the lower right, blank reverse, 138 mm (w) x 89 mm (h), lightly soiled. Third Postcard is black and white, matte finish, obverse illustrating an artist's conception of twenty-three sailors aboard a docked u-boat and performing various activities, inscribed "Deutches U-Boot übernimmt vor dem Auslaufen in das Sperrgebiet Torpedos.", coded "A 558 / E.P. & Co. A Seaman's Studio Portrait Photograph, a black and white, the standing sailor's tally ribbon inscribed "Kaiserliche Marine 2.II. Matrosen = Division. II.2.", measuring 58 mm (w) x 88 mm (h), mounted to a thick 64 mm (w) x 103 mm (h) card, studio marked in gold-embossed text "Fr. Kloppman Wilhelmshaven" below the photo, reverse studio marked in blackish-blue ink. Extremely fine.

 

A Soldier's Studio Portrait Photograph, a black and white, faded to a sepia-toned look, measuring 58 mm (w) x 103 mm (h), mounted to a thick 64 mm (w) x 103 mm (h) card with rounded corners, studio marked "W. Hornung Tübingen" below the photo, reverse with a personalized inscription and dated "1884" in black ink, as well as being studio marked. Extremely fine.
