First postcard is black and white, matte finish, obverse illustrating a group of German soldiers marching through the countryside, each wearing a picklehaube and carrying a rifle, reverse photographer marked "Hans Alberti, Fotograf, Hammelburg.", with a personalized inscription in pencil, a stamp and postmarked, 138 mm (w) x 90 mm (h). Second postcard is black and white, faded to a sepia-toned look, matte finish, obverse illustrating the former Kaiser Wilhelm II distributing decorations, with officers and soldiers nearby in the foreground, a flag at the right and many soldiers in the background, inscribed "ExKaiser Wilhelm II destributing (sic) decorations" above the Kaiser, blank reverse, 138 mm (w) x 87 mm (h). Magazine cover's obverse inscribed "Die Gartenlaube" (The Gazebo), with "Umschau / Bilder aus großer Zeit." below, a large photo illustrating five sailors aboard a u-boat, inscribed "Dom Unterseebootkrieg - Hissen der Flagge vor der Ausfahrt." below the photo, dated "1916." and numbered "Nr. 13." at the lower left, photo credit at the lower right, the reverse with an extensive article, accompanied by three photos illustrating soldiers with a artillery piece, defending a fortification and in a trench, with subheadings below each photo, 192 mm (w) x 283 mm (h).
