Measuring 84x140mm, better than very fine condition with light creasing and scuffing of the cover. It is dated to Cologne on September 15, 1890.
Footnote: David Wilhelm Kessler was born on February 9, 1869 in Marburg (central Germany). He learned to become a pastry chef, but then volunteered to join the army for one year on October 1, 1888. He was deployed into the 3rd Company of Hessian Jäger Battalion No. 11, yet was discharged early on February 14, 1889, as he was “dienstunbrauchbar”, unfit for service. There are no details given on Kessler’s condition, but it is stressed that it was not developed or received due to his time of service. Between August 8 and September 16, 1890 Kessler spent six weeks and one day in the fortress prison of Cologne. Again no details about the circumstances are given.
