A signed and framed portrait featuring a period-reproduced studio portrait of Großadmiral (Grand Admiral) Hans von Koester, depicting in uniform during the First World War and with his extensive array of orders and decorations clearly visible, the image measuring 80 mm (w) x 130 mm (h) and pasted to a multi-layer off-white card stock backer, set above von Koester’s handwritten signature in clear black ink, set within a period wooden frame with a textured gilt finish and retaining a fully-intact glass face, the reverse retaining a card stock backer and topped by a magnetic metal suspension loop, the frame measuring 320 mm (w) x 385 mm (h), the frame demonstrates moderate chipping and surface cracking, in overall extremely fine condition.
