Germany, Imperial. A Cartridge Box
(Kartuschekasten). Constructed of multiple pieces of blackened leather, consisting of a hollow shell featuring an alligator-style textured finish, embroidered with a lid flap bearing a gilded bronze monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm topped by a royal crown, with three magnetic metal studs emanating from the bottom of the shell, with the central stud fastening to a leather strap stitched to the back of the shell for secure close, unmarked, measuring 12 cm (w) x 8 cm (h) overall, with age-appropriate material fatigue evident to the leather which has rendered opening of the lid difficult, in near extremely fine condition.
