(Ordensschnalle). A first and second war medal bar with six medals, awards, and decorations, consisting of 1) An Iron Cross 1914 Second Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1914 2. Klasse); a cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a ribbed border; on loop for suspension; the obverse with a raised central “W”, with the re-institution date “1914” in raised numbering on the lower arm, and the royal crown on the upper arm; the reverse with a central oak-leaf branch consisting of three oak leaves, with the original institution date “1813” in raised numbers on the lower arm, a raised Prussian crown on the upper arm, with “FW” in equally raised lettering directly below; measuring 43.40 mm (w) x 43.47 mm (h). 2) A War Merit Cross Second Class (Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse ohne Schwerter); a Maltese cross in bronzed tombak; on loop for suspension; the obverse pebbled, with a circular raised border of oak leaves on the obverse with a raised mobile swastika in the center; the reverse with a circular raised border of oak leaves bearing the institution date “1939” in raised numbering; measuring 47.79 mm (w) x 47.84 mm (h). 3) A Hindenburg Cross (Ehrenkreuz des Weltkriegs 1914/1918); a bronzed metal (magnetic) cross pattée with crossed swords between the arms of the cross; the obverse inscribed with “1914/1918” within an open-ended laurel wreath; the reverse plain; maker marked with an unknown mark on the reverse; on a loop for suspension; measuring 38.16 mm (w) x 38.01. 4) An Austrian 1914-1918 Commemorative Medal (Österreichische Erinnerungsmedaille an den Weltkrieg); a round bronze medal; the obverse depicting an Austrian eagle clutching an Austrian coat of arms in its talons, inscribed “FÜR ÖSTERREICH” (German - For Austria); the reverse is dated “1914-1918” within an oak wreath; measuring 36.07 mm in diameter. 5) An Austro-Hungarian Commemorative Medal for 1914-1918; constructed of silvered bronze; the obverse depicting the crowned Hungarian coat of arms superimposed on crossed swords, surrounded by an oak and laurel wreath; the reverse depicting a steel helmet, dated “1914-1918”, circumscribed “PRO DEO ET PATRIA” (Latin - God and Country), with two laurel stems tied together at the bottom of the medal; measuring 36.96 mm in diameter. 6) A Bulgarian Commemorative Medal for 1915-1918; constructed of gilt bronze; the obverse depicting the crowned Bulgarian coat of arms superimposed on crossed swords, surrounded by oak and laurel stems tied together at the base; the reverse dated “1915-1918”, and equally surrounded by oak and laurel stems tied together at the base; measuring 32.11 mm in diameter. All mounted to the medal bar via their period original ribbons; with a non-magnetic core, a dark blue wool backer, and a horizontal pinback; in virtually mint condition.
