A bavarian medal bar with four medals, awards, and decorations, consisting of 1) An Iron Cross 1914 Second Class (Eisernes Kreuz 1914 2. Klasse). A cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a ribbed border; on loop for suspension; the obverse with a raised central “W”, with the re-institution date “1914” in raised numbering on the lower arm, and the royal crown on the upper arm; the reverse with a central oak-leaf branch consisting of three oak leaves, with the original institution date “1813” in raised numbers on the lower arm, a raised Prussian crown on the upper arm, with “FW” in equally raised lettering directly below; measuring 43.05 mm (w) x 43.18 mm (h). 2) A Military Merit Cross of the Order of Military Merit, Third Class with Swords and Crown (Militärverdienstkreuz des Bayerischen Militärverdienstkreuz des Bayerischen Militärverdienstorden 3. Klasse, mit Schwertern und Krone). A Maltese cross constructed of copper plated bronze; the obverse with a circular medallion with the cypher of King Ludwig III, surrounded by a ring inscribed “MERENTI” (German - Merit); the reverse bearing the Bavarian crowned lion, circumscribed by a buckled belt; its suspension considering of crossed swords and a swivel crown; measuring 41.98 mm (w) x 65.00 mm (h). 3) A Hindenburg Cross (Ehrenkreuz des Weltkriegs 1914/1918). A bronzed metal (magnetic) cross pattée with crossed swords between the arms of the cross; the obverse inscribed with “1914/1918” within an open-ended laurel wreath; the reverse plain; maker marked with an unknown mark on the reverse; measuring 37.56 mm (w) x 37.40 mm (h). 4) A Military Long Service Medal 3rd Class for 9 Years of Service (Militär-Dienstauszeichnung 3. Klasse für 9 Dienstjahre). A round medal constructed of new silver; the obverse bearing a cross with the Bavarian coat of arms in the center, surrounded by an oak wreath and circumscribed by “TREUE DIENSTE BEI DER FAHNE” (German - Loyal Services by the Flag); the reverse bearing a central shield depicting the roman numeral “IX), surrounded by an oak wreath, and circumscribed by “DIENSTAUSZEICHNUNG III. KLASSE” (German - Service Medal 3. Class); measuring 33.07 mm in diameter; all suspended via their period original ribbons; the medal bar with a zink core, a tan backer, and a horizontal pinback; measuring 122 (w) x 40 mm (h); in overall very fine condition.
