Germany, Imperial. A Hamburg Hanseatic Cross Medal Pair

(Medaillenbar). A pair of medals, including an Iron Cross 1914, II Class, a cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a ribbed border, the obverse with a raised central W, with the re-institution date 1914 in raised numbering on the lower arm, and the royal crown on the upper arm, the reverse with a central oak-leaf branch consisting of three oak leaves, with the original institution date 1813 in raised numbers on the lower arm, a raised Prussian crown on the upper arm, with FW in equally raised lettering directly below, maker marked with K.O. for Königliches Münzamt Orden on on loop, measuring 43.16 mm (w) x 42.96 mm (h), weighing 17.6 grams, and in very fine condition. A Hanseatic Cross, constructed of silvered bronze and red enamels, the obverse with a central enamelled medallion depicting the Hanseatic castle, the reverse plain, inscribed Für Verdienst im Kriege 1914 (German - For Service in the War 1914) in the centre, measuring 40.21 mm (w) x 44.03 mm (h), and in near very fine condition. Mounted to a ribbon bar with period original ribbons, on horizontal pinback, measuring 72 mm (w) x 42 mm (h), and in extremely fine condition.
