What's a max bid?

An extensive medal bar featuring seven decorations, including a 1914 Iron Cross II Class, constructed of iron and silver, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, unmarked, measuring 41.96 mm (w) x 46.45 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; a War Merit Cross, II Class with Swords, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a central wreathed date of “1939”, unmarked, measuring 48.84 mm (w) x 49.68 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; a House Order of Hohenzollern, Knight’s Cross with Swords, constructed of gilded silver with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with black and white enameled arms, with crossed swords set through the centrepiece, the obverse bearing a central white enameled disc with a hand-painted Hohenzollern imperial eagle, within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilt inscription of “VOM FELS ZUM MEER” (“FROM THE CLIFFS TO THE SEA”) with laurel branches, the reverse with a central white enameled disc bearing a hand-painted monogram of King Wilhelm I, within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilt institution date of “18. JANUAR 1851” with laurel branches, the twelve o’clock arm with a hollow silver gilt crown suspension, the six o’clock arm with a maker’s mark of “W” for Johann Wagner & Sohn, Berlin, and a silver content number of “988”, measuring 39.37 mm (w) x 58.34 mm (h), with some flecking to the enamels, in overall near extremely fine condition

 

A Friedrich August Cross, II Class, constructed of blackened magnetic iron, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, with its arms joined through the quadrants by a laurel wreath, the obverse with a central raised monogram of Grand Duke Friedrich August, the six o’clock arm with a date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, unmarked, measuring 39.16 mm (w) x 44.48 mm (h), in better than very fine condition; an Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, with crosses swords through the centrepiece, the obverse with central wreathed dates “1914-1918”, the reverse with the maker’s mark of Reichsverband Pforzheim, measuring 39.21 mm (w) x 43.50 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition; a Civil Service 25-Year Long Service cross, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the arms joined through the quadrants with an oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central black swastika, the reverse bearing a central inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 40.78 mm (w) x 45.64 mm (h), in extremely fine condition, and; a Sudetenland Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central date of “1. OKTOBER 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER”, unmarked, measuring 32.14 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition; all affixed to a 185 mm-long bronze bar with a horizontal pinback and grey wool reverse liner, retaining a fully intact maker’s label reading “GEBR. GODET & CO. BERLIN”, in overall extremely fine condition.
