(Eisernes Kreuz 1870 II. Klasse mit Verleihungsurkunden). Reinstituted 19 July 1870 by King Wilhelm I. (1870-1871 issue). Constructed of iron and silver, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1870”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clcok arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, unmarked, measuring 43.10 mm (w) x 47.18 mm (h), weighing 20.7 grams, some age-appropriate oxidation evident, in overall near extremely fine condition; accompanied by its period original award document, constructed of off-white paper with black ink, awarded to “GEFREITEN CARL FERDINAND FRIEDRICH BECKER” of “INFANTERIE-REGIMENT NO. 66”, dated 19 January 1873, measuring 263 mm (w) x 210 mm (h), folding creases and minor soiling evident, in overall near extremely fine condition; also accompanied by a handwritten attestation detailing the actions for which Becker received the decoration, dated 1871, measuring 212 mm (w) x 343 mm (h), folding creases and soiling evident, in overall better than very fine condition.
