(Eisernes Kreuz 1914 2. Klasse). A 1914 Iron Cross, II Class, a cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a ribbed border, the obverse with a raised central W, with the re-institution date 1914 in raised numbering on the lower arm, and the royal crown on the upper arm, the reverse centre with a branch of three oak leaves below the crowned initials FW, with the original institution date 1813 in raised numbering on the lower arm, marked with an M for an unknown maker as well as a crescent moon on loop, measuring 43.33 mm (w) x 46.81 mm (h), weighing 18.1 grams, on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in good condition.
