The obverse centre bearing a non-magnetic iron cross paty, the centre bearing the cipher “W” the 12 o’clock arm bearing a crown and the 6 o’clock arm bearing “1914”, within a ribbed border, the iron cross paty is superimposed on an eight-pointed gilded star, the reverse is plain and bears a vertical pinback with a round wire catch, measuring 79.05 mm, weighing 69.8 g, very fine.
