Germany, Imperial. A Miniature Medal Chain for Decorated Hessian First World War Veteran, by Godet
(Frackkette). A miniature medal chain for a decorated Hessian First World War Veteran, featuring five decorations of silver and bronze construction with multi-coloured enamels, including a 1914 Iron Cross II Class, a Hesse War Honour Deocation (also known as the “Bloody Ludwig”), a Hesse Bravery Medal, an Austrian Military Merit Cross, and a Silver Grade Wound Badge, all suspended from a 45 mm-long bronze chain which completes at one end in needle, the reverse of the Wound Badge bearing a maker’s mark of “GODET” and a silver content number of “938”, one end of the chain appears to be missing an attachment device, a high-quality example in near extremely fine condition.
