(Erkennungsmarke). A German POW identification disc etched onto the obverse “PI. VERS. KP.,” possibly meaning Pionierversuchskompanie (combat engineer experimental company, and the number “No. 370,” with two punched holes and period original black and white string, measuring 48.5 mm (w) x 33 mm (h), in addition to an identification disc stating “R.F.A.R. 17,” possibly meaning Reitende Abteilung des Feldartillerieregiments (Horse Battaltion of the 17th Field Artillery Regiment), followed by the digits “4.B. No. 299,” with two punched holes and no string, measuring 50 mm (w) x 33.5 mm (h), both disc in fair condition.
