A lot of five medals, including a 1914 Iron Cross II Class, constructed of iron and silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, the suspension loop maker marked “WS” for Walter Schott, Berlin, measuring 43.33 mm (w) x 46.94 mm (h), weighing 15.4 grams, in near extremely fine condition; a Bavarian Military Merit Cross, III Class with Swords, constructed of coppered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original tri-fold ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central monogram of King Ludwig II, within a stylized belt and buckle bearing an inscription of “MERENTI” (“MERENTI”), the twelve o’clock arm overlaid by crossed swords, the reverse bearing a central raised Bavarian lion rampant, within a stylized belt and buckle bearing a raised date of “1866”, unmarked, measuring 41.82 mm (w) x 49.77 mm (h), weighing 21.8 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition; a King Ludwig Cross, constructed of feinzink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse bearing a central leftward-facing profile of King Ludwig III, the reverse bearing a central date of “7. 1. 1916”, unmarked, measuring 39.40 mm (w) x 45.50 mm (h), weighing 18.3 grams (inclusive of ribbon); a Merit Cross for War Assistance, constructed of zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm II, the reverse bearing a central inscription of “FÜR KRIEGS-VERDIENST” (“FOR WAR SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 41.45 mm (w) x 41.47 mm (h), weighing 18.9 grams, in near extremely fine condition, and; an Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with central wreathed dates of “1914-1918” and crossed swords through the centrepiece, maker marked “R.V. PFORZHEIM” for Reichsverband Pforzheim, measuring 38.02 mm (w) x 42.45 mm (h), weighing 15.2 grams, in extremely fine condition.
