A World War I German Matchbox Cover, constructed of brass, the front panel bears a central helmet with “GOTT MITT UNS” (GOD WITH US) on a badge on the front of the helmet, on a pebbled background encompassed by a mimicked rope border,the left-side panel bears a four leaf clover with a banner underneath with the inscription “SOUVENIR DE FRANCE” (REMEMBER FRANCE), voided in the corners on both the front and back panels, measuring 38.80 mm (l) x 60.22 mm (h) x 19 mm (w), with U.S.A made match box with “money” penciled on the front twice; two Imperial German Colonial Rollfez Cap Insignia, a left-facing imperial eagle with outstretched wings constructed of die stamped bronze, missing the tail feathers and legs and the back attachment prongs; a single shoulder board with four rows of silver-grey Russian braid with red, white and black chevron stripes throughout, with a button and a crown, the underneath is constructed of a white fabric with a strap and long hook, measuring 101.10 mm (l) x 39.27 mm (w), very fine.
