Germany, Imperial. A Mixed Lot of Decorations
(Abzeichen). A mixed lot of three decorations, including a Black Grade Wound Badge, constructed of blackened bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, around a central Stahlhelm on a pebbled field, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 39.02 mm (w) x 44.77 mm (h), weighing 8.0 grams, with minor loss of finish evident, in very fine condition; an Oldenburg Friedrich August Cross, II Class, constructed of blackened zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with its arms joined through the quadrants by a circular laurel wreath, the obverse bearing a central raised monogram of Grand Duke Friedrich August, the six o’clock arm bearing a date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm bearing a royal crown, unmarked, measuring 40.05 mm (w) x 44.52 mm (h), weighing 23.6 grams, with oxidation and loss of finish evident, in fair condition, and; an Oldenburg Friedrich August Cross, I Class, constructed of blackened magnetic iron, consisting of a Cross Pattée with its arms joined through the quadrants by a circular laurel wreath, the obverse bearing a central raised monogram of Grand Duke Friedrich August, the six o’clock arm bearing a date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm bearing a royal crown, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback, unmarked, measuring 46.15 mm (w) x 46.27 mm (h), weighing 25.0 grams, with minor oxidation and loss of finish evident, in better than very fine condition.
