Germany, Imperial. A Mixed Lot of Decorations
(Abzeichen). A mixed lot of three decorations, including an Oldenburg Friedrich August Cross, II Class, constructed of blackened magnetic iron, consisting of a Cross Pattée with its arms joined through the quadrants by a circular laurel leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a central monogram of Grand Duke Friedrich August, the six o’clock arm with an institution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, unmarked, measuring 39.61 mm (w) x 44.67 mm (h), weighing 24.3 grams, missing its suspension loop and with oxidation evident throughout, in poor condition; a Saxe-Meiningen War Merit Medal unissued strike, constructed of silvered bronze, unmarked, measuring 40.33 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition, and; a Waldeck Friedrich-Bathildis unissued strike, constructed of bronze, the obverse engraver marked “R. KOWARZIK”, measuring 38.48 mm in diameter, weighing 22.0 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
