Germany, Imperial. A Mixed Lot of Decorations and Accessories
(Abzeichen und Zubehör). A mixed lot of three decorations and accessories, including a 1914 Iron Cross II Class, constructed of iron and silver, on loop for suspension from a period original ribbon converted into a fob with a magnetic metal spring clip, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, the suspension loop maker marked “MFH” for an unidentified manufacturer, measuring 43.12 mm (w) x 47.71 mm (h), weighing 15.5 grams, with some loss of finish evident, in very fine condition; a patriotic war donation medal, constructed of magnetic metal, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the reverse designer marked “HOSAEUS”, measuring 33.93 mm in diameter, weighing 13.2 grams, in near extremely fine condition, and; a Saxon EM/NCO’s belt buckle, constructed of magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a central raised crown, within a ribbed ring bearing a raised inscription of “PROVIDENTIAE MEMOR” (“REMEMBER PROVIDENCE”), the reverse with a loop and swivel attachment claws, unmarked, measuring 62 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), with some loss of finish evident, in very fine condition.
