(Abzeichen). A mixed lot of six First World War Patriotic badges, including:

1. A first war year Iron Cross badge, constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a 1914 Iron Cross executed in black and white enamels, bearing a central gilded double-headed eagle, and overlaying a circular gilded laurel leaf wreath, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 30 mm (w) x 30 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

2. A Central Powers badge, constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with arms finished in black, red, white, and green enamels, with the first three overlaid by gilded German, Ottoman, and Austrian national emblems, respectively, and the latter bearing gilt dates “1914-15”, bearing a central gilded medallion with the leftward-facing profiles of Kaiser Wilhelm II and Emperor Franz Joseph, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 22 mm (w) x 22 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

3. A large first war year clasp, constructed of silvered bronze with enamels and glass gems, the obverse consisting of a black enameled Iron Cross bearing silvered dates “1914-1915”, with its arms joined together through the quadrants by gems, flanked on each side by clusters of oak leaves, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 36 mm (w) x 10 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

4. A large first war year clasp, constructed of silvered bronze with enamels and glass gems, the obverse consisting of a black enameled Iron Cross bearing silvered dates “1914-1915”, flanked on each side by a single gem, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 35 mm (w) x 9 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

5. A Central Powers badge, constructed of gilded and silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with black and white enameled arms trimmed in gilt, bearing a central silvered medallion overlaid by the rightward-facing profiles of Kaiser Wilhelm II, Emperor Franz Joseph, and Sultan Mehmed V, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 25 mm (w) x 25 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

6. A Habsburg and Hohenzollern patriotic badge, constructed of white painted magnetic metal, horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 32 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition.
